Important Announcement: Ramadan Iftar & Cooking Facility Usage

Dear Brothers,

As the blessed month of Ramadan approaches, the Kuopio Islamic Center is pleased to announce our group iftar gatherings along with the availability of our mosque’s garage for large-scale cooking. Please review the details below:

Group Iftar Gatherings:

• Dates & Schedule:

  • Iftar gatherings will be held on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays throughout Ramadan.

• Participation Options:

  • Food Preparation:

    • Anyone can participate alone or in a group.
      - You can bring cooked food or
      - You can prepare it in the mosque

    • Meals should be universally acceptable (e.g., rice & chicken, beef/lamb & rice) and prepared in a manner that is mild and suitable for most palates.

  • Monetary Donation:

    • 8For those unable to participate in food preparation, monetary donations of any amount are welcome as an alternative way to gain rewards.

Garage Cooking Facility Usage:

• Facilities Available:

  • The mosque’s garage is equipped with:

    • Large pots capable of cooking a whole lamb

    • Two large ovens

    • An open flame stove

    • Additional essential utensils ( Disposable items)

    • All equipment operates on gas

• Access & Responsibilities:

  • Before using the garage, the person(s) responsible for cooking must contact one of the following to gain access:

  • The assigned cooking group is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the garage after use.

• Safety Regulations:

  • Strict adherence to overall fire safety guidelines is required, especially when handling the open-flame stove and other cooking equipment.

  • No children are permitted in the cooking area.
